Embassy of India Bamako *** Press Release on Yoga Run-Up Event at Tour de l’Afrique as part of International Day of Yoga 2026 Celebrations On 06 June 2026 The Embassy of India in Bamako organized a Yoga session Run-Up event at the iconic Tour de l’Afrique in Bamako as part of events leading up to the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2026) organized under the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing" and with a focus on promoting peace, hearmony and unity. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Malians, Yoga practitioners, members of Indian diaspora, officials of the Mission and their family members, etc. 2. The Tour de l’Afrique, a prominent landmark symbolizes the friendly cooperation across the African continent, provided an inspiring setting for the practice of Yoga, which embodies harmony between mind and body as well as solidarity between people across the world. 3. The yoga session was conducted by Mr. Oumar Coulibaly, ICCR empanelled Yoga Teacher. Under his guidance, the participants got an opportunity to practice a series of Asanas (postures) and Pranayams (breathing exercises) as defined under the globally recognized Common Yoga Protocol (CYP). The event highlighted the growing popularity of Yoga in Mali and underscored its role in fostering a healthy lifestyle, inner peace, and community well-being. 4. The vibrant participation at the event showcased the strengthening cultural ties between India and Mali through the shared pursuit of wellness and harmony.
