Deadline for conversion from PIO to OCI card

Embassy of India Bamako *** The Embassy of India in Bamako wishes to inform the general public, members of the Indian diaspora, and PIO cardholders in Mali of important updates issued by the Government of India regarding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applications for the conversion of PIO cards to OCI cards submitted on or before the deadline of 31 December 2025 will continue to be processed under existing guidelines. However, for those who did not apply by this date, the conversion facility is no longer available. Such individuals are now advised to apply for fresh OCI registration in accordance with current guidelines.
