Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2025

The Embassy of India in Bamako observed the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2025’ campaign with great enthusiasm and active participation by all members of the Mission. As part of the observance, a ‘Shramdaan’ (voluntary cleanliness drive) was organized within the Embassy premises. The Chancery complex, including the approach road, was thoroughly cleaned during the campaign. A significant quantity of waste materials and unusable items were also disposed of, thereby creating additional space and ensuring a cleaner and more organized environment within the campus.

2. To further promote environmental consciousness, the Embassy also organized a tree plantation activity on this occasion. Ambassador-designate Dr. N. Nandakumar and other officials of the Mission planted ‘Kassia’ saplings in the Chancery premises, symbolizing the Mission’s commitment to a cleaner and greener environment.

3. During the event, Dr. Nandakumar administered the ‘Swachhata Pledge’ to all Embassy officials, reaffirming the collective resolve to uphold cleanliness and hygiene in all spheres of life. He also presented tokens of appreciation to the Embassy’s sanitation workers in recognition of their dedicated service in maintaining cleanliness.

4. In his remarks, Dr. Nandakumar emphasized that “cleanliness is equal to godliness” and encouraged all to integrate the principles of cleanliness, discipline, and environmental responsibility into their daily lives as a reflection of civic and moral duty.
