Embassy of India Bamako *** Press Release on Curtain Raiser: 12th International Day of Yoga Hosted in Bamako The Embassy of India in Bamako organized a vibrant Curtain Raiser event at the Chancery premises on 30th May 2026 to launch the celebrations for the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2026) under the global theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing." The event brought together members of Malians, Yoga enthusiasts, members of Indian diaspora, officials of the Mission and their family members, etc. 2. The yoga session was conducted by Mr. Oumar Coulibaly, ICCR empanelled Yoga Teacher. Under his guidance, the participants got an opportunity to practice a series of Asanas (postures) as defined under the globally recognized Common Yoga Protocol (CYP). Besides, Malian Yoga practitioners shared their personal journey with Yoga with the audience. 3. The event attracted local media attention and was featured in the Malian newspaper, L'Alerte and Malian digital news entity and social media reporting outlet namely NCP News Mali.
