A Yoga session for Hon’ble members of the National Transitional Council (CNT) of Mali was held on 03 July 2026 as part of Sports Day. H.E. Lt. Gen. Malick Diaw, Hon’ble President, CNT & H.E. Mr. Abdoul Kassim Fomba, Hon’ble Minister of Youth & Sports participated in it.
IDY 2026 celebrated in a grand manner in Bamako on 21 June 2026. H.E. Mr. Abdoul Kassim Fomba, Min. for Youth & Sports, Civic Education & Citizenship Construction of Mali graced the event that saw an enthusiastic participation!
On 19.06.2026, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Mali H.E. Maj. Gen. Abdoulaye Maiga received the Indian delegation to the 1st India-Mali Forum for Promotion of Exports. Discussions focused on further boosting India-Mali bilateral ties including economic cooperation.
The 1st India-Mali Forum for Promotion of Exports inaugurated in Bamako by Hon’ble PM of Mali, H.E. Maj. Gen. Abdoulaye Maiga in the presence of H.E. Mr Moussa Alassane Diallo, Minister for Industry and Trade & Amb. of India, H.E. Dr. N. Nandakumar to boost India-Mali trade & investment ties.
A high level delegation led by H.E. Mr. Amit Kumar, Joint Secretary Foreign Trade (Africa), Department of Commerce, Govt. of India & a large Indian business delegation representing diverse sectors on 19 June 2026 participated in the 1st Forum for Promotion of Exports that features talks on trade policy, investment opportunities, B2B & exhibitions.
Amb. Dr. N.Nandakumar on 10 June 2026 met H.E. Mr. Abdoul Kassim FOMBA, Hon’ble Minister of Youth & Sports, Civic Education & Citizen Building of Mali. They had a fruitful discussion on strengthening India-Mali cooperation in sports, including Yoga & capacity building training of Malian youths.
Promoting peace, unity & harmony through Yoga! As part of IDY 2026 celebrations, Embassy on organized a Yoga session at ‘Tour d'Afrique’, a popular landmark of Bamako on 06 Jun 2026.
Amb Dr. N. Nandakumar on 05 June 2026 received a youth delegation led by Mr Sory Ibrahim Cisse, President, National Youth Council. They exchanged views on cooperation in education, culture & sports including yoga.
Amb. Dr. N. Nandakumar on 01 June 2026 administered “No Tobacco Pledge” to Embassy officials to mark the World No Tobacco Day 2026, highlighting dangers of tobacco use for a healthy living.
IDY 2026| Embassy of India, Bamako kickstarted the celebration of the 12th International Day of Yoga with a curtain raiser event on 30 May 2026. Yoga enthusiasts & friends of India took part actively in it, celebrating holistic wellness!
Amb Dr. N. Nandakumar on 22 May 2026 addressed the undergraduate students of the University of Law & Political Sciences of Bamako on India-Africa relations. Students engaged in a lively discussion with Amb on India’s relations with both Africa and Mali.
Amb Dr. N. Nandakumar on 20 May 2026 hosted a press briefing on the upcoming IAFS 2026 and IBCA. Journalists from mainstream print, visual & electronic media of Mali actively participated and had a lively interactions on both the summits.
Amb. Dr. N. Nandakumar congratulated Mr. Souleymane Ouologuem, a well known visual artist of Mali who will be one of the group of African artists visiting India to participate in the cultural engagements of #IAFS2026. - 18 May 2026

Ambassador Dr. N. Nandakumar called on H.E. Mr. Alousséni Sanou, Minister of State, Minister of Economy and Finance of Mali on 10 April 2026. India’s longstanding development partnership with Mali, cooperation in capacity building, and avenues for further deepening friendly ties between India and Mali were discussed
